HomeBase is a free real estate education platform operated by Thrive.RealEstate. Our mission is to make homeownership knowledge accessible to everyone. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information (name, email, phone) when you sign up
• Messages you send through our contact or expert consultation forms
• Content you bookmark, collections you create, and path progress you save

Information Collected Automatically

• Pages you visit and time spent (stored in our database, not shared with third parties)
• Device type, browser type, and general referrer information
• Session identifiers stored in your browser's local storage (not cookies)
• UTM campaign parameters if you arrived via a marketing link

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not use third-party marketing or advertising trackers
• We do not use Google Analytics or similar cross-site profiling services
• We do not collect financial information, Social Security numbers, or government IDs
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes

Cookies & Analytics

On your first visit we show a consent banner with three choices:

• Accept all — enables Vercel Analytics + SpeedInsights (for measuring page performance) and our own engagement tracking (which articles and paths people actually read).
• Essential only — nothing analytics-related loads. You can still sign in, save bookmarks, and use the site normally. If you're signed in, starting or finishing a path or saving something still adds to your account's engagement score, which can alert our team (see How We Use Your Information).
• Customize — pick category by category.

Your choice is stored locally on your device under the key hb-cookie-prefs-v1. If you change your mind, Reset cookie preferences and choose again.

How We Use Your Information

• Personalization — to remember your bookmarks, path progress, and preferences
• Engagement scoring — to understand how people use our content so we can improve it, and, if you have an account, to let our team know when you might want help
• CRM integration — our real estate team uses a CRM (Follow Up Boss) so an agent can reply or offer help. Your details go there:
  • when you send us a message or ask for a consultation: your contact details and message;
  • when you create an account with your email: your name and email (and phone, if you give one);
  • if you have an account and your engagement score rises (for example, when you start and finish a path or save articles): your name, email, phone number if you've added one, how engaged you are, the kind of move your paths are about (buying, selling…), and a short summary of that activity;
  • when our team adds your account there themselves.
• Site improvement — aggregate analytics help us understand which content is most useful
• Performance monitoring — we use Vercel Analytics to measure page load speed and performance (no personal data is collected by this service)

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in our Supabase database with row-level security policies. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Anonymous session data is retained for analytics purposes but cannot be tied to your identity unless you create an account.

Your Choices

• You can use HomeBase without creating an account — browsing is fully anonymous
• You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings
• You can clear your browser's local storage to remove session data
• You can Reset cookie preferences at any time
• You can contact us to request a copy of or deletion of your personal data

Children's Privacy

HomeBase is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
