Square footage is one of the most important factors in determining property value, along with location and condition. Different measurement standards exist for calculating square footage, and it's important to understand what is and isn't included (finished basements, bonus rooms, covered patios, etc.). Square footage should be verified in the MLS listing and assessed independently during inspections.
