About this term

Soil tests analyze composition, pH, nutrients, contamination, and structural bearing capacity. Results affect development feasibility, foundation design, and agricultural potential.

Pro Tip

Get soil tests for any property you're developing. Foundation design depends on soil bearing capacity. Discovering soil problems after you start building is catastrophic and expensive.

Example

A soil test showing clay-based soil with 2,000 psf bearing capacity suitable for standard foundations.
